Expressways to Be Toll-free During May Day

Self-drive tours are expected to increase as the May Day holiday is approaching. The Hunan Expressway Network Operation Monitoring and Command Center announced on April 27 that passenger vehicles with seven seats or fewer will be exempt from expressway tolls from 0:00 on May 1 to 24:00 on May 4.

It is estimated that the highest passenger traffic on expressways will be on May 4, twice times higher than daily traffic flow.

During the May Day holiday, the traffic flow of Hunan’s expressways will be more than 12.5 million vehicles, an increase of 8.7% year-on-year.
