World Natural Heritage World Geopark The First National Forest Park of China
The 8th UNESCO World Geopark Congress was held on September 10th to September 14th, 2018 at the World Geopark in Adamello-Brenta, Italy. Mr.Luo Zhibin, executive deputy mayor of Zhangjiajie, led the team to participate in this conference.
The UNESCO World Geopark Congress is held once every two years. The conference is a platform for UNESCO to provide mutual exchange, mutual promotion and common development for the development of global geological parks around the world. It will help local quality parks to showcase their achievements and enhance their international reputation.
During the meeting, Zhangjiajie delegation seriously participated in the various agendas of the meeting, communicated with relevant experts of the UNESCO Global Geopark, and reported on the work of the Zhangjiajie World Geopark. The members of the delegation gave the conference the keynote report of 《Evolution of sandstone landscapes in Zhangjiajie UNESCO Global Geopark》、《Management experiences in Zhangjiajie UNESCO Global Geopark of China》,Introducing the evolution process of Zhangjiajie landforms and park management experience.This conference also promoted Zhangjiajie to participating countries, further strengthened exchanges and cooperation with foreign world geoparks, and learned from the scientific management and construction management concepts of foreign world geoparks to improve the popularity of Zhangjiajie World Geopark and further enhance tourism quality and Promote local economic development and play a positive role in promoting.
