Since loquat trees own beautiful shapes, rapid speed of growth and luxuriant leaves, many places plant loquat tree as a kind of ornamental plant.
In Zhangjiajie, loquat trees are seen in every districts and counties. According to Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, every 100g edible part of a loquat contains0.4g protein, 0.1g fat,7g carbohydrate, 0.8g crude fiber, 0.5g ash content, 22mg calcium, 32mg phosphorus 32mg ferrum, 3mg vitamin C and 1.33mg carotenoid. Among them, the content of calcium, phosphorus and carotene is much higher than other commonly-seen fruits. What’s more, a loquat also contains 8 kinds of amino acid that is essential to human body.
