Xiangxi Great Wall ,or simply "Southern Great Wall"for short,built during Ming dynasty from 1554 AD to 1622 AD with the length of 382 li(= 1/2 kilometer ).Most of Southern Great Wall is located in Jishou ,Xiangxi（Western Hunan） ,thus it also named as Great Wall of Miao Region.
Southern Great Wall is a great ancient Chinese defenses not for avoiding the invasion of nomads but separating the commercial and cultural communication between Miao and Han People.Therefore,Southern Great Wall is smaller than Northern Great Wall.
Scenery spots in Southern Great Wall encompasses Go chessboard ,ancient watchtower,General tomb etc.
Go chessboard is not only a most mysterious and marvelous spot in Xiangxi also a holy land for tourists at home and aboard who fancy for Go.The whole area of the Go chessboard is 1004.89 sq m.Each chessboard is 5051.83 times as a normal one.
The ancient watchtower is houses for guarding soldiers in that time.By visiting ancient watchtowers we can imagine how soldiers' life was.
General tomb is worth your time,too.The tomb is a historic relic for remembering our national hero ,surrounded by various verdant plants .
Besides,around Southern Great Wall,there are some other scenery spots .Such as Phoenix ancient city with a distance of 16km ,Miao village of Xijiang --the biggest village in China of Miao People.
