World Natural Heritage World Geopark The First National Forest Park of China
On 26, February, 2011, Taohuayuan Airport Construction and Development Frame Agreement Signing Ceremony was held in Cohere Hotel. Changde City Government signed Taohuayuan Airport Construction and Development Frame Agreement with Hunan Airport Limited Liability Company, which signified a big step forward for Taohuayuan Airport construction and development. Qing Jianwei, Chen Wenhao and some other leaders of Changde presented the ceremony.
Taohuayuan Airport is located in the Doumuhu Town, 15 kilometers from the downtown of Changde and 33 kilometers from Taohuayuan Scenic Area. At present, it attracts China Southern and Spring Airlines and offers more than flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Kuming each week. Now, it has an annual passenger volume of more than 270,000 and an annual flight of 2600.
According to Taohuayuan Airport Construction and Development Frame Agreement, Taohuayuan Airport extension construction project includes an investment of RMB 0.548 Billion and a requisition of land of 50.41 hectares, and will be completed in 2020. After completion, Taohuayuan Airport will have an annual passenger volume of more than 2.2 million.
