Excellent Folk Cultural Performances Staged in Qianzhou Ancient City

All seats were occupied in front of a stage of Qianzhou Ancient City in Jishou on May 1st, as a performance of original Nuo culture was on show, attracting tourists throughout the country.

Themed with "Origin of Wuxi", the large-scale performance is on display in Qianzhou ancient city on the morning from April 28 to May 10. In addition, 12 excellent programs of traditional Chinese opera including Chenhe Gaoqiang (a high-pitched opera), Yang Opera and Han Opera are scheduled to put on.

Tourists can enjoy not only the sight of antique folk houses here but also splendid folk cultural activities, which enables them to experience the mysterious culture of Xiangxi on the scene.

    According to Jishou Municipal Bureau of Culture on April 24, the first intangible cultural heritage park in Xiangxi Tujia-Miao Autonomous Prefecture is to open to the public on April 28, 2011.More than 100 items of intangible cultural heritage at the provincial or national level will be shown to citizens and tourists all the year round.
