On December 18 local time, the CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. and the Philippines National Railways reached a supply contract of three EMU trains in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. This is the first bullet train order that a Chinese company won from the Philippines.
These EMU trains, with a design speed of 120 km/h, is composed of 3 carriages respectively for business seats, first-class seats, and second-class seats. There are 168 seats in total. These trains will run between Manila and southern Luzon.
As contracted, the trains should meet "five-star" safety standard, and the up-to-date EN45545 fire protection and EN15227 crashworthiness requirements. In terms of power, the trains are energy-efficient and cost-effective; and, as to comfort, the seats are designed based on ergonomics, with three kinds of seats equipped to increase passenger comfort and meet the needs of large capacity.
Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. not only provides high-quality and multi-type rail transit products to ASEAN countries, but also established China's first overseas rail transit "4S" dealership and railway equipment manufacturing base to provide clients with overall solutions via a "product-service-technology-management" pattern. These have helped improve the local rail transit equipment manufacturing industry chain and been widely accepted by local governments and the public.
