World Natural Heritage World Geopark The First National Forest Park of China
On September 29, a banquet to entertain the overseas participants of the 2018 China Hunan International Tourism Festival was held at the Fire God Temple Restaurant, Changsha. The Changsha Tourism Promotion Conference was also held at the same time. Leaders of the Hunan Tourism Development Commission and the Changsha Tourism Bureau, and representatives of travel agencies and overseas delegations were present.

Director Yi introduced Changsha to the guests: Changsha is a historical and cultural city, and Hunan’s political, economic, cultural, educational, commercial, and tourism center. It attracts numerous domestic and overseas travelers, and also a main tourist source in central China.
More than 30 Chinese and foreign cities come to Changsha to promote their tourism industry. Changsha is reputed as “Cultural City of East Asia”, “City of Media Arts”, and “International Gourmet City”, and has been awarded “Happiest City in China” for consecutive ten years. It is one of the worthiest tourist destination in central China.
Overseas guests are enchanted by the delicate local food.
Director Chen said that there are going to take steps for strategic cooperation: first, promoting information sharing through launching English websites of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan, and Chinese websites of Bristol and Bath; second, promoting tourist routes through shooting and broadcasting advertising videos for each other; third, planning activities to integrate the tourism resources in Changsha and southwestern UK, and facilitating the travel agencies’ partnership, especially those in Changsha and Bristol.

John Hirst talked about his deep impression given by his Hunan tour. He was optimistic about the cooperation potential between the two places.
