A Brief Introduction to Zhangjiajie Bai Nationality

Culture 2012/07/04 View:2041

In general, Zhangjiajie Bai nationality is an ancient nation. Usually, Bai people call themselves “white chessman” “bai ni”, meaning “the white race” in Chinese. They speak in Chinese as the Han people do on the whole.

ZJJ Bai nationality mainly spreads over Dali,Yunnan Province. In Zhangjiajie, they can be found in Sangzhi County and Tianzi Mountain, which are also fromYunnan Province. Though Bai people living in Sangzhi County now comes from far-away places initially, they sill share almost the same customs and manners (maybe minor differences sometimes) with Bai people of Yunnan Province. Every year, Dali welcomes “Third Month Fair”, the grandest traditional festival of Bai nationality, which attracts numerous visitors domestically and internationally.

As we all know, Bain atonality show great diligence and braveness from past to present. They not only heroically combated with imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism in history, but also created abundant experiences and national culture during their long-period struggling with the nature.
