    Juefen is one of the three treasures in Zhangjiajie. Juefen is product of bracken - "Juegen" in Chinese. It is similar to the arrowroot. Juefen is epurated powder from bracken (Chinese bracken). It was originally from Qin and Han Dynasty in the remote mountains of Zhangjiajie. The taste of Juefen is smooth and tender. Juefen belongs to a special starch containing many necessary microelements such as glutamic acid, zinc, calcium Selenium and so on. The recordation about Juefen was found on (Ben Cao Gang Mu) by Li Shizhen. It recorded bracken has the function of accelerate assimilation, strengthening stomach, promoting blood, lowering blood pressure and losing weight and so on.

    Zhangjiajie Kudzu

    Kudzu is a kind of arrowroot. In Zhangjiejie, the mountains, there are a lot of wild kudu. Kudu is one of the three treasures in Zhangjiajie. Kudu can be eaten directly after peeling off. It can also be made into farina. Usually, people shop the farina of the kudzu. The kudzu after cleaning by water, then being broken into pieces and being epurated repeatedly and then is dried naturally. After all the processes, kudu becomes powder. Having methods is to boil arrowroot with some cold boiled water and mixing round at the same time. Then add white sugar, the white kudzu powder after boiling will turn into glittering paste like jelly. Kudu has unique delicacy taste and has the function of relieving inflammation. It is the representative of pure green food. Tourists can find white kudu powder everywhere in Zhangjiajie. But, some of them are fake ones made from sweet potato. So tourists should differentiate the goods carefully and they would better do shopping from normal stores or super markets.

    Zhangjiajie Chinese Goosebeery

    Chinese Goosebeery (kiwifruit) widely spread in Zhangjiajie especially Mt. Tianzi (Tianzishan) and Bobo Valley. As this fruit is found by macaque, people call it "Mihoutao" literally "Macaque Peach". There are about over 20-breed of Chinese goosebeery in Zhangjiajie. Chinese goosebeery belongs to liane. Its pulp in verdure or light yellow is slightly vinegary and sweet. Chinese goosebeery is extremely fresh and delicacy in taste. It contains much vitamin C which is 5 to 10 times of orange and 50 to 80 times of apple. It also contains other nourishment such as vitamin A, farina, calcium, magnesium and aminophenol and so on. Chinese goosebeery has been made into cans, dried fruit, fructose, jam and so on; and it is popular both in and outside.
